Banijas Abu Dhabi (D1) inked experienced 35-year old Serbian ex-international center Mile Ilic (215-104kg-84). He has a double citizenship as he also holds Bosnia and Herzegovina passport. Ilic was about to sign at Al-Ahli in Bahrain Premier League. The last summer he played at As Seeb in Omani league where in four Asia Champions Cup games he recorded very impressive stats: 21.5ppg, 11.8rpg, 5.5apg, 1.0spg and 1.5bpg.
In 2005 Ilic was drafted by New Jersey Nets (NBA) in second round (43rd overall).
His team made it to the Bahrain Cup final in 2017. Ilic was a member of Serbian Senior National Team back in 2012.
He is a very experienced player. Ilic has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to ten different countries on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America). Ilic has played previously professionally also in France (Monaco), Georgia (MIA), Iran (Mahram), Italy, Lebanon (Tadamon and Al Moutahed), Lithuania (Lietkabelis), Russia (Lokomotiv), Spain (Real Betis and RETAbet Bilbao Basket) and Serbia (Metalac, KK Vojvodina Novi Sad II and Crvena Zvezda).
